Easy Chicken Cordon Bleu Recipe

Cheese and ham-filled Chicken Cordon Bleu is crispy and tasty. This simple rendition of the French classic is excellent for supper and takes around an hour. 

INGREDIENTS

Chicken: – 4boneless/skinless chicken breastsabout 6oz each – 8slicesswiss cheese – 8slicesham – salt and pepper – baking spray Breadcrumbs mixture: – 1cupPanko breadcrumb – 1teaspoonground paprikaoptional - used to add color – 1teaspoongarlic powder Egg mixture: – 2large egg – 2tablespoonsall-purpose flour Lemon aioli: – 1/2cupmayonnaise – 1/2cupfull-fat Greek yogurt – 1tablespoonlemon juice – 1teaspoonlemon zest – salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

Warm the oven up to 375 degrees F. Put the baking dish away after spraying it with oil.

Step 1

Breadcrumbs mixture:- Put everything in a medium-sized, shallow bowl, stir to mix, and set it away.

Step 2

Egg mixture:- Stir together all of the ingredients in a medium, shallow basin, then set aside.

Step 3

Prepare the chicken;- Butterfly each breast by cutting it horizontally across the centre, but not through, to flip it open. Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the meat.

Step 4

Two cheese slices should be stacked on a cutting surface, with the sides overlapping. Same way, top with two gammon slices and roll.

Step 5

Place the roll-up on the butterflied chicken and top with the other side. The chicken is now packed with cheese-ham roll-up. Put a couple toothpicks on the cut/opening side to secure it within.

Step 6

Refrigerate if time allows for 20-30 minutes. After dipping in egg and flour, coat chicken in breadcrumbs. Put on the baking sheet. Repeat with remaining chicken breasts.

Step 7

Bake till golden brown in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes with cooking spray on top. Chicken should be 165F inside.

Step 8

Lemon aioli:- Stir all ingredients in a small bowl until mixed. Use on chicken. with chopped fresh parsley.
