Love pumpkin pie but want to share? This Pumpkin Slab Pie is quick, tasty, and a fun variation to traditional dessert.

– 3-4 refrigerated pie crusts divided use – 30 ounces pure pumpkin puree – 1 ¾ cups dark brown sugar – 1 ½ cups heavy cream – 1 cup evaporated milk – 4 large eggs – 1 tablespoon vanilla extract – 2 tablespoons cornstarch – 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice – 1 teaspoon fine sea salt Optional pie crust decoration: – 1 large egg – Splash of water – Decorator's sugar

Warm the oven up to 400°F. Dust a clean work area with a little flour. Take out three pie crusts and stack them on top of each other. Form it into a 12x18-inch square.

Step 1

Shape the pie crust into a 10x15x1 jelly roll pan after putting it in it. Cut off some of the crust that's too thick and crimp the edges. Put away.

Step 2

Mix the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, heavy cream, evaporated milk, eggs, vanilla, cornflour, pumpkin spice, and salt in a large bowl using a whisk until the mixture is smooth.

Step 3

Put the mixture into the shell and make the top smooth. It's done when the base is golden brown, the top is golden brown, and a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean.

Step 4

Cut out forms that are fall-themed with a cookie cutter or by hand. Place the shapes on a sheet tray lined with parchment paper. Mix the egg and a little water in a small bowl.

Step 5

Use a pastry brush to lightly brush the egg wash over the designs on the crust. Add some decorating sugar on top.

Step 6

Bake for eight to ten minutes, or until the mixture is golden brown. Remove all heat from the area.

Step 7

In the event that you desire to serve the pie with the pie crusts on top, you can cut the pie into pieces once it has cooled down to the point where it can be touched.
