– 1 cup white sugar – 1/2 cup vegetable oil – 1 Tablespoon lemon zest (from about 1 large lemon) – 1/4 cup lemon juice (about 1 lemon's worth) – 3/4 cup buttermilk – 2 large egg – 1 1/2 teaspoons salt – 1 Tablespoon baking powder – 1 Tablespoon poppy seed – 2 1/2 cups + 2 Tablespoons all purpose flour, – 1 cup fresh blueberrie For the crumbs: – 1/4 cup plus 2 Tablespoons all purpose flour – 1/4 granulated sugar – 2 Tablespoons butter, melted For the glaze: – 1/2 cup powdered sugar – 2 teaspoons lemon juice – 1-2 Tablespoons milk

Warm the oven up to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan by greasing it.

Mix the sugar, oil, lemon zest, and juice together in a big bowl until everything is well mixed. Mix the eggs and buttermilk in a different bowl or big measuring cup.

Add the salt, baking powder, poppy seeds, and 2 1/2 cups of flour to a third bowl and mix them together using a whisk.

Add the dry ingredients to the sugar mixture three times, alternating with the buttermilk mixture and scraping the bowl as needed.

Make sure the mixer is on low speed the whole time. Use two tablespoons of flour to toss the blueberries, and then slowly add them to the batter.

Put batter in prepared pan. Melt butter in a measuring cup and mix flour, sugar, and butter until fine. Place pieces on batter.

A toothpick inserted in the middle of the bread should come out clean after 50–65 minutes. Remove the bread from the oven and place it on a rack to cool quickly.

Run a knife around the bread pan. Turn it over onto parchment paper. Some parts may fall off. Not to worry! Remove and replace them on top. Make the glaze while that's happening.

In a measuring cup, mix powdered sugar, lemon juice, and milk until smooth and pourable (more milk if needed). Apply the sauce to the cake, serve immediately or let it dry, then wrap it in plastic and refrigerate for three days.
