Apple Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

Warm, fragrant, and nutritious Apple Oatmeal Cookies are comfort food. Due to the perfect balance of apple sweetness and oats, these cookies are delicious and healthier than others. 

INGREDIENTS

– 1 cup all-purpose flour – 1 cup rolled oat – 1/2 teaspoon baking soda – 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon – 1/4 teaspoon salt – 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened – 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed – 1/4 cup granulated sugar – 1 large egg – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – 1 cup finely chopped apples (about 1 medium-sized apple) – 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, such as walnuts or pecans)

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or parchment a baking sheet. Prepare dry ingredients: Mix all-purpose flour, rolled oats, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt in a medium basin. Set aside.

Step 1

Mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Incorporate wet ingredients: Add egg and vanilla extract and mix well.

Step 2

Mix wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ones until just mixed. Do not overmix.

Step 3

Fold in apples and nuts: Gently fold in finely chopped apples and chopped nuts, if using, until evenly distributed throughout cookie dough.

Step 4

Shape the cookies: Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.

Step 5

Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes on the baking sheet in the preheated oven until the edges are golden brown.

Step 6
