Apple Fritter Bread Recipe

Bake this Apple Fritter Bread and the kitchen will smell like cinnamon and apples. Apple fritter flavors make a delightful loaf for breakfast, brunch, or afternoon snacks. 

INGREDIENTS

– 2 cups all-purpose flour – 1 teaspoon baking powder – 1/2 teaspoon baking soda – 1/2 teaspoon salt – 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon – 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened – 3/4 cup granulated sugar – 2 large egg – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – 1/2 cup buttermilk – 1 1/2 cups finely diced apples (about 2 medium apples), peeled For the Cinnamon-Sugar Swirl: – 1/4 cup granulated sugar – 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon For the Glaze: – 1/2 cup powdered sugar – 1-2 tablespoons milk – 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS

Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and powdered cinnamon in a medium basin. Set aside.

Step 1

Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat softened butter and granulated sugar in a large basin until light and fluffy. Beat each egg until well integrated before adding the next. Add vanilla extract.

Step 2

Add dry ingredients to wet components slowly, alternating with buttermilk, starting and finishing with dry. Avoid overmixing and mix just enough.

Step 3

Gently incorporate diced apples into batter until equally distributed. For the cinnamon-sugar swirl, mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small basin.

Step 4

Pour half the batter into the loaf pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle half the cinnamon-sugar mixture on batter.

Step 5

Pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon-sugar layer and spread evenly. Add the remaining cinnamon-sugar. To marble the batter, gently swirl the cinnamon-sugar mixture with a knife.

Step 6

Bake for 50–60 minutes in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.

Step 7

The bread should cool in the pan for 10 minutes before moving it to a wire rack to finish cooling.

Step 8

While the bread cools, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth for the glaze. If necessary, add milk to adjust consistency.
